About Kaziranga National Park

An undisturbed natural habitat, Kaziranga National Park is home to one of the most vulnerable species, the one-horned rhinoceros, also known as the Indian rhinoceros which accounts for almost two-thirds of the world’s total population of rhinos. Along with this rhino live several other mammals. The national park beats in the heart of the state Assam, sandwiched by Golaghat and Nagaon districts in the floodplains of Brahmaputra Valley. Ornamented around 430 km square of green terrain, UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site considering its significant contribution to the ecosystem providing natural shelter to a wide species of flora and fauna.

About Diphlu River Lodge

Surrounded by thick green flora of Kaziranga National Park, Diphlu River Lodge is a rural-styled hotel, separated by a river from the national park. Preferred for unparalleled accommodation experience, the lodge is beautifully based in the middle of numerous species of climbers, shrubs and other plants which make it look like a fairytale place. The water of the air and the air passing through the trees bring freshness which harmonizes the environment around the lodge. This nature-inspired lodge, furnished with all modern amenities, the exquisiteness of the lodge never fails to impress the guests.

Facilities & Activities

Being located in the middle of nature, the lodge has a lot to offer. Be it a game drive via vehicles (4X4) or a morning safari to the park, the guests are welcomed to live a thrilling experience. The lodge arranges jeep safari and elephant safari for the amusement of its guests. Apart from the exciting safaris, visiting the nearby villages to understand the local life, tea garden visits, river walks, rubber plantation walk, Assamese dance, Dolphin boat safari, Brahmaputra day cruise, etc. are some other enthralling and educational activities engage the guests here. The lodge provides pick up facilities from airport or railway station.

Accommodation

Dipped in typical Assamese culture and tradition, every cottage is fitted with AC, living area, bathrooms, wardrobe, dressing space and a large courtyard where guests can sit and cherish a panoramic view of the river across the green paddy fields. Guests can choose from 4 semi-private bungalows or 8 private bungalows which are all made with bamboo & thatch with local artifacts and materials adding a unique taste to the interior. These cottages are exclusively designed for 2 people. The furniture made of cane with a minibar with a mini-fridge, a writing desk, coffee and tea maker in every room ensures a comfortable stay. The balconies covering ample space to sit, relax and enjoy the thrilling landscape outside makes one forget the rest of the world.

Dining

Machan offers a wide range of exquisite delicacies for its guests. The restaurant excels in the local cuisine of Assam with a fine blend of continental and North Indian dishes. The guests can sit here over drinks and share their stories of the day. Return from morning safari and treat your taste buds with a heavenly delicious al-fresco breakfast in the courtyard, surrounded by the ambient sounds of nature. The guests can change the menu as per their desire. A large amount of organically grown vegetables and other ingredients are used in preparing the dishes for the guests.

Access

A short distance of 3km from the Baguri Forest range office, this lodge is located on National Highway 37. Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport Guwahati is around 220km away from the lodge. Scheduled flights from Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata are operated regularly. It takes around 4 hours to reach the lodge from Guwahati.
